Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How does hemp-derived THC work?

All Stratospheric Food products have Delta-9 THC and CBD that is derived from federally legal hemp and contain a Delta-9 THC concentration of less than 0.3%.

What is the difference between hemp-derived Delta-9 THC and marijuana-derived Delta-9 THC?

Hemp and marijuana come from the same cannabis species, but are distinguished by their Delta-9 THC content under the law. Hemp is defined as cannabis containing 0.3% or less Delta-9 THC, while marijuana contains more than 0.3%.

Delta-9 THC is the primary compound most people mean when they refer to THC. It is chemically identical whether sourced from hemp or marijuana and occurs naturally in both. Humans have consumed Delta-9 THC for thousands of years, in contrast to cannabinoids like Delta-8 or HHC, which are typically produced through chemical conversion and have only emerged in the commercial market more recently.

What's the difference between THC and CBD?

THC and CBD are both cannabinoids found in cannabis plants, including hemp and marijuana, but they produce very different effects.

THC is the compound responsible for the euphoric, psychoactive “high.”

CBD, on the other hand, is non-intoxicating and is commonly associated with a sense of calm and balance without altering perception.

When combined, THC and CBD work synergistically, each enhancing the other’s positive attributes, to create a more balanced, relaxed, and socially enjoyable experience.

What makes THC drinks different from other edibles?

Cannabis beverages differ from traditional edibles primarily in how they’re absorbed and experienced. Beverages are typically made with nanoemulsified THC, allowing for faster onset (often 10–20 minutes), a shorter duration, and a more controlled, sessionable experience that can be sipped and adjusted, making them popular as a social, alcohol-like alternative. Traditional edibles, on the other hand, must be digested and processed by the liver, leading to a slower onset (30–90+ minutes), longer-lasting effects, and often a more intense, body-heavy high due to the conversion of THC into 11-hydroxy-THC.
